Last year the Douglas County School System made the important decision to begin its own police force. Chief Tracey Whaley was hired to lead the new force and hire the officers. When new businesses come to town, we just take it for granted.  But when it comes to landing the important employers to our area, there is a ton of work that goes on behind the scenes to make it happen. Chris Pumphrey is the President of the Douglas County Development Authority, and under the new public/private partnership of Elevate Douglas, he is working with local interests to bring in exciting businesses to our area. Jason Post hosts the first Douglasville Impact of the year, and is joined by Hayley Chapman and Chris Dixon for some lively conversation.

The Christmas season always makes us think of children. The Children's Voice CASA, is dedicated to helping some of the most vulnerable kids in our community. Executive Director, Katy Hilbert and her crew of volunteers have been working hard through this year to make sure that no child gets left behind, even during a pandemic. The Warehouse of Hope has been a staple of love and support in our area for many years. This ministry was born out of a real world personal experience by its founder.
